Being part of the Sarasota Orchid Society has given me the opportunity to learn and grow in love in a deeper sense. Collaboration with other volunteers who have unique skills and backgrounds, has widened my horizon and created the perfect environment to learn how to grow orchids. Together, we can show off our success, and in turn, offer encouragement and support to those who are new to growing orchids or struggling to learn their culture.
As a nonprofit organization SOS sponsors and supports philanthropic programs for the research and conservation of orchids, provides scholarships to local students whose interests are the areas of science and botany. We offer monthly meetings with orchid gurus, outings, exposure to international orchid experts, and the opportunity to network and make friends with other who share our passion. Trust me, there is no need for psychotherapy — growing orchids is your best therapy!
